But first, let us introduce ourselves!
The official name of our organization is Hog Capital Barbecue,
Inc. We are chartered by the
State of Illinois as a non-profit organization
in Kewanee, Illinois. Our purpose is to
organize, promote, fund and manage an annual celebration to recognize the hog
producing enterprises of the area as well as promote Kewanee, Henry County and
the State of Illinois. This we have done for 54 consecutive years, with
2008 our 55th! Membership is open to anyone in our territorial
area based on our by-laws and everyone serves as a volunteer without
compensation. We have an executive board, a full membership committee and
associate member committee, with elections held annually in November.
The Executive Board
Serving on the executive board for 2008 are eight officers who take on the responsibility of coordinating all the events of our Labor Day weekend celebration: Kaye Finney and Robyn Resch, co-chairpersons; Anne Murchison, Mary Ashpole, Ron Finney and Janie Metscaviz, vice chairpersons, Ruth Neuleib, treasurer; and Larry Flannery, secretary.

scenes, making everything "go" either over HogFest weekend or leading
